3/10/26 Update; Here We Go Again

Hello Music Lovers.
It’s been several years since my last post. I took a break but now I have returned to singing professionally, and I owe you an explanation. I searched for song lyrics that relate to my return to singing professionally. (Perhaps you can suggest some?) I came up with a song from Ray Charles:

About a year ago I was asked by pianist Joe Holt to do a gig with him. This was after a few other gigs with him and drummer Mike McShane a few months prior. I was at a crossroads. I had to decide if I was going to continue singing professionally or give it up. I prayed about it and asked the Lord to take the lead and have His way. I wouldn’t want to move forward with anything outside of His will, anyway. I sold my small sound system to a local musician who was looking for just that type of system to add to his set up. I told myself that if I was going to return to gigging then I would want to purchase something new. Then the invitations to sing started coming. I discussed my future with Joe Holt and continued to seek the Lord’s will, especially because I am still working at my day job and keeping weekly commitments at my church. First, I bought a new microphone because my old one looked tired. Next, I felt led to revise my website. Dale Britt and I remain friends and I see him weekly at my church, but we have not been a musical duo since 2021. Joe Holt created a section on his website for when we work together, while still acknowledging that I am free to work with whomever I choose. The next step was getting new head shots. And now here I am with a revamped website and several gigs booked. I don’t have any plans to gig weekly. I am careful not to overload my schedule and allow time for chores and relaxation at home with my husband. But who knows what will happen? I am embracing whatever the Lord has for me.
I plan to add more photos to my website. If you have any photos of me singing, or posing with you for a picture, and you want me to consider it, please share them with me. I would like to have pictures of my entire career, not just recent ones. I hope to post videos, as well, if I can come across any videos that are exemplary.
