April 2, 2012 Hello Music Lovers, Spring is here, and with it Apple & Britt have a new venue to play......well, sort of. It’s the renovated Beach Plaza hotel with a new restaurant, Adolfo’s. Here’s the deal: Adolfo’s owners, Kimberly and David Griffin, have signed a five year lease with the Beach Plaza hotel for the restaurant space. This Wednesday, April 4th, is their grand opening, and they’ve asked us to play for them at the piano bar from 6 to 10pm. Kim likes things “old school,” so Dale will be playing the piano, and not the electric keyboard, bass pedals, or drum machine. Come join the fun as the Griffins “move on up” to the Beach Plaza.

Do you ever watch WBOC’s show called “Delmarva Life?” It’s on at 4pm weekdays on channel 16 here on Delmarva. Well, they have invited Apple & Britt to perform on the air for their show on Friday, April 20, 2012. We are honored to be asked. But now we need to choose the songs, and that’s hard to do! Lighthouse Sound restaurant has been very good to Apple & Britt for almost a year now. It became our “home” last year in May, with gigs once or twice a week last summer. Over the winter we have played there a couple times a month at least. Our gig there last Saturday, March 31st, was an indication of how well we fit in there: the place was full, and we took requests from several tabls. The food is very good, the service is top notch, the view of Ocean City’s skyline is inspiring, and the atmosphere is casually elegant. Management treats us well, as do the staff, which makes us feel valued and at ease. We have several bookings there on our schedule through October 2012, including April 14th and 28th.

Since Dale’s wife, Fran, retired last year, they have traveled to some gorgeous places. Paris is their next adventure. I have gone back to school at Wor-Wic, and hope to be accepted into the rad. tech. program there.
